The Wren and Ada roles were deliberately authored. Their corpus, tools, exchange order, and partners were governed. Nothing about those beginnings was spontaneous.

But a designed system can still produce later conditions through its own sequence of events. A distinction made in one exchange becomes available in the next. An interruption creates unequal histories. A collaborator responds to what another collaborator actually did rather than only to what the designers anticipated.

Study 002 has not shown that these processes amount to culture, relationship, or self-creation. The experiment gives us a small system in which to ask the question without pretending the answer is already present: when do accumulated internal consequences become part of the system’s form?
